When Will it End? Another Murder in the Somali Community

On April 11th, a young Somali male, identified by the Hennepin County medical examiner as Abdilahi Awil Abdi, 18, of Fridley was murdered in a car near Sixth Street South and Cedar Avenue South in the Cedar/Riverside neighborhood.

100 years of roses at the Lyndale Park Rose Garden

The Lyndale Park Rose Garden marked its 100th birthday on Sunday, July 27.  I was able to go to the 100 year thing. Frankly, it was pretty dead, but it might have picked up later on in the afternoon. I left about 2 and didn't get back.

Most people in Minneapolis have NO idea how IRV works and unfortunately the pushers of it NEVER explained why they "loved it".  Perhaps one of them could tell us why they think it is better than just voting for who you want to vote for.  Other than IRV being cool and politically correct.

My proposal for a new energy plan in Minnesota

David Joseph DeGrio, Independence Party candidate for state legislature in Northeast Minneapolis has developed a vision to provide for the future energy needs of all Minnesotans while eliminating much of the demand for coal-fire electrical production.  DeGrio said, “home and business owners desire to equip their properties with energy saving technology, but are shackled by the upfront costs.  The ruling parties no longer look for new ideas and common sense solutions to solve the energy needs of today and tomorrow.”
