Once again Michael Cavlan is throwing his hat into the political ring, and making a run for US Senate.
Back in July of 2010 the Mpls Mirror did a story “Seizure of drugs in South Minneapolis” where 1.5 kilos of cocaine, more than 500 pounds of marijuana and assorted firearms had been seized from three different homes.
On Saturday January 21st, 2011 a birthday gathering was held on the corner of 17th and Morgan Avenue North for Quantell Braxton who would have been 15 years old on January 20th had he lived. Quantell was murdered this past summer at the age of 14, shot dead while playing.
This evening just before 6 p.m. the Minneapolis Emergency Communications Center received a call from Childrens Hospital of Minneapolis stating that a child matching the description provided in media reports had walked into their emergency room.
The Minneapolis Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate a ten-year-old girl who has been missing since approximately 10 a.m. this morning from the area of Lake Street West and Pillsbury Avenue South.
As I viewed video of all the people in different areas of the twin cities that came out to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King I had to ask myself where are these people when needed the other 364 days of the year?
The day after Christmas, Terrell Mayes, 3 years old, was shot while inside his house. The stray bullet was fired from outside of the residence and neither Terrell nor the other occupants of the house were the intended target. Minneapolis Police Department Homicide investigators and other officers have been pursuing leads in an attempt to find the responsible party.

Charez Jones was a young girl who was murdered as she left a birthday party on June 9th, 2007 at the tender age of 14. She never had the chance to attend a prom, graduate, get married, have children or grow old.
Even though Jardin Paraiso Community Garden sits right on 34th and Chicago Avenue in South Minneapolis it was one of the most peaceful places to be on Saturday, August 6th.
The Minneapolis Eagle/The Bolt at 515 Washington Avenue was the scene Sunday of the 5th annual Easter Parade. Interested parties gathered, some in full costume, to strut their finery for fellow patrons and our cameras.

The mainstream media has much more manpower, and paid reporters then the Mpls Mirror. I have many questions to reports done by the media and need some follow up answers.
